Using a Calm Down Toolkit

To start off the new year we're chatting with Trina Deboree, an elementary school Media Specialist focused on standards-based reading materials and science/STEM/makerspace. She helps teachers and parents create engaging materials that help foster the love of learning in children. She owns Trina Deboree Teaching and Learning and has spent 17 years in the classroom as a first and second grade teacher. She was a student support specialist (SSS) for several years working alongside administration and supporting children with behavior difficulties all day. From that experience, she obtained a unique perspective on kids who struggle with behavior, trauma, and other issues. She shares so much of her knowledge with us today. It is incredibly helpful for any teachers and parents out there who want a new, method to help their child if they might be struggling with emotion regulation.
